Design Principles:
- Contrast: The white font is a striking contrast to the bright watercolor background. Using a serif and a sans-serif font creates contrast in each of these images.
- Repetition: The overall design of this set of graphics repeats the watercolor look and feel, white text, and all titles, quotes, and attributions are the same sizes in each of the pieces.
- Alignment: I played around with the text in each of these pieces showing how different alignment can create a different overall feel. I also payed particular attention to the kearning and leading making adjustments when needed.
- Proximity: The text has been set in a way that the various text boxes work together as a unit.
Photoshop Skills: I practiced,
- Transforming images to create the best background for text to be clear and easy to read.
- Grouping layers and keeping the behind the scenes of the design organized.
- Installing new fonts onto my computer.
- Changing the color, size, kearning and leading of text.
- Understanding how different sizes of font work together to complement each other and the message.
